ACW Book, Bake, Bling and Bargain Sale

Saturday, April 12

St. Mark's ACW Book, Bake, Bling & Bargain Sale will be held in St. Mark's Parish Hall this Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Come and bring a friend or two, browse our tables filled with Baking, Books and Bargains.

Please bring cash or cheques (made payable to St. Mark's ACW), and don't forget to bring a bag to carry your purchases.

 You are inviited  to journey with us through the services of Holy Week:

Palm Sunday (April 13) - Liturgy of the Palms & Holy Eucharist at 10:30 am (service will also be livestreamed)

Holy Wednesday (April 16) - Lenten Reflections, Prayer at 7:00 pm

Maundy Thursday (April 17)  - Potluck Agape Supper at 5:30 pm followed by Communion Service & Stripping of the Altar at 7:00 pm

Good Friday (April 18) - Commemoration of the Lord's Passion at 10:30 am.

Easter Day (April 20) - Holy Communion at 8:30 am; Holy Eucharist at 10:30 am (service will also be livestreamed)

Persons wishing to make donations for memorial flowers for Easter are invited to inform the church office by Monday, April 14, along with details of their loved ones.

Wednesday, April 23

Parish Council will meet in the Parish Hall at 4:15 pm for its regular monthly meeting.

Parish Council meetings are open meetings and members of the congregation are welcome to attend.

Approved Minutes of previous Parish Council meetings are available at the Parish Office, upon request.

St. Mark's "Seniors Having Fun" group invites you to a seminar at St. Mark's Parish Hall at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 24.

The Seminar is entitled "Ducks in a Row: Preparing for the Inevitable", presented by William Walker with TruStage Life/Canada Purple Shield.

Learn about Estate Administration, Wills and Power of Attorneys, Planned Giving options, Funeral preplanning, considerations if a death occurs away from home and Executor tips.

Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be served.

Saturday, April 26

St. Mark's Church is holding a Community Food Drive on Saturday, April 26, from 10am to 1pm. All proceeds will go to The Partners in Mission Food Bank in Kingston. Please bring your donations (cash and cheques also accepted!!) for drop-off at the church steps.
 
The most needed items are: canned meat and fish, peanut butter and jam, canned stews, canned tomatoes, rice and pasta, baby food, baby formula and diapers, cereals, tea, coffee and sugar.

"Heaven is for Real" - Saturday, April 26

Please join us for our next Movie Matinee, Heaven is for Real, on Saturday, April 26 at 3 pm, in St. Mark’s Parish Hall.

Heaven Is for Real is a 2014 American Christian drama film, based on the 2010 book “Heaven Is for Real” by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent.  It’s a true story about four-year-old Colton Burpo, the son of Todd Burpo, pastor of Crossroads Wesleyan Church in Imperial, Nebraska. Colton says he experienced Heaven during an emergency surgery after having acute appendicitis.  The film stars Greg Kinnear, Kelly Reilly, Connor Corum, Margo Martindale, and Thomas Haden Church.

"Enneagram Made Easy" - Tuesday, April 29

St. Mark's Book Club will be meeting at the home of Alan Rumsey at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 29, to review and discuss the book "Enneagram Made Easy".

The Enneagram is an archetypal personality system that identifies nine distinct types, each with its own set of characteristics, motivations, and patterns of behavior. In this book, the author Dr. Deborah Threadgill Egerton, globally respected psychotherapist and president of the International Enneagram Association, explores all facets of the Enneagram and provides a deeper dive into each of the nine personality archetypes.
